Hello there! I’m Irene, a certified Spanish teacher living in Budapest. I’ve lived and taught Spanish privately for three years in the bonny Scotland before deciding to try out Hungary.
I’ve been passionate about languages since I can remember: I started studying Greek in my teens, studied Hebrew Philology at Complutense University of Madrid and now my last two passions are Russian and Hungarian (I’m not as successful with them as I’d like to be, I admit it). After all that, teaching my native tongue seemed like the natural next step, so I decided to get a course as Spanish Teacher by the European University of Madrid, and here I am!
I have experience with both one to one and group lessons (though I prefer small groups, to be able to adapt to the particular needs of every student). I like to make my own materials, specially games and exercises, so I can choose the vocabulary and subjects that might be most useful for the student at the moment (and also to add a bit of a personal touch), but I also follow the specifications of level, grammar and vocabulary provided by the Cervantes Institute.
I always try to mix fun and laugh with the feared and unavoidable grammar. I promise you, I can make te grammar dragon look like a funny thing 🙂
