My name is Sam! I am a recently-graduated Masters student living in Florence before I begin my PhD in History in September 2019. I am experienced English and History teacher, and have supported students for many years, from casual conversational tutoring to advanced English grammar. I have also taught English in schools in London, and supported students in the major English Examination boards in UK schools, as well as entrance exams!
I adapt lessons to each students needs and goals, catering to their interests to make sure lessons are engaging and educational! I can support young students looking for help with basic conversational English, packing lessons with games and exercises to help them learn while having fun, as well as support older students looking for grammar-based tuition, helping them develop their comprehension of the language while keeping exercises fresh and engaging.
I acquired my Bachelors and Masters degree from King’s College London, and a second Masters degree from University College London. While in London I worked as an assistant teacher in Comprehensive Schools, and after my BA at King’s College I taught English in schools in Nepal for six months. In addition I worked as a private English and History tutor for many years, and always received excellent feedback from parents and students, with the mother of one student once getting in touch to say: “You helped [my son] greatly… He says you are the best history and English teacher he has had!”
